We’re at it again with two summer workshops instead of our regular class schedule to accommodate the busy travel season!
Each workshop offers a focused experience to deepen your dance knowledge without committing to a full series, perfect for summers’ more flexible rhythm.
All workshops will be held at GCDC (aka Golden City Dance Collective).

Saturday, June 25th

INTENSIVE
Smoothstepping
w/ Sia & mark
An intensive workshop for passionate dancers ready to go deep, or for dance instructors who want to seriously study smoothstepping. This is a training for those who are already comfortable with the smoothstepping basics, and want to take their dance to the next level by studying the “minutia” like posture, connection, and projection, as well as learn some vocabulary not normally taught in the Academy curriculum.
Prerequisites
Before attending Saturday's training, you must be comfortable with leading or following smoothstepping boxsteps with precision, meaning:
Smooth and grounded replacement steps with no jumping or bouncing motions
A comfortable close embrace connection and frame
The ability to effortlessly loop multiple boxsteps together
Boxsteps includes rotation
For those who don’t fully meet the prerequisites (or if you just want the extra practice), there is a Friday “Tune-Up your Boxstep” workshop. Make it a weekend with Parlor 415 and Mission Fusion for one package price!

MISSION FUSION
For those with a foundational knowledge of the smoothstepping boxstep and are looking to make it more precise and polished.
$10-20 sliding scale
Come for one last summer workshop before the regular Academy school year starts up again. With one-off workshops taught by our FDA teachers, this is a perfect way to get back into the swing of things with some fun and targeted learning.
