Mark carpenter

(HE/THEY)

  • Mark is an internationally acclaimed Fusion dance instructor, DJ, and event organizer, and has been shaping the global fusion scene for more than a decade. Based in the SF Bay Area, he founded the Fusion Dance Academy in 2023 and has studied multiple dance styles, including Lindy Hop, Blues, Tango, and many more. Mark's innovative approach to teaching and his fluency in two languages have made him a sought-after instructor and facilitator worldwide.

  • Straight out of San Francisco, Ren has a dance education that mixes elements of West Coast Swing, Tango, Blues, Kiz, Hip Hop, and Zouk. Having traveled across more than a dozen states, and several countries teaching, dancing, djing, and organizing, the Fusion community has become a home and sanctuary for her authentic expression as a trans fem, and lover of movement.  

HEATHER POWERS

(SHE/HER)

  • Heather is a two-time Sophisticated US Open Champion and a California Swing Dance Hall of Famer in the Nova Star Category.  A retired professional ballet dancer, Heather teaches West Coast Swing, Ballet, and Fusion in The Bay and around the country.

Milla von Tauber

(THEY/THEM)

  • For Milla, fusion is both an art form and a practice ground for the collaborative skills essential to living well together. As a community organizer in the fusion scene, Milla weaves together their expertise in facilitating transformational experiences with their growing love of teaching. As co-founder of Myrtlewood Fusion Intensive and one of the core organizers for events like High Fidelity Fusion & Hot Night Fusion Weekend, Milla excels at creating containers where the technical aspects of dance intersect with deeper explorations of communication and community skills. 

Sia brodeur

(sHE/HER)

  • Originally from Montreal and shaped by the creative spirit of San Francisco, Sia brings a lifetime of movement and pedagogy to her dance. She began dancing at age three, exploring various solo and partner styles with a foundation rooted in contemporary and swing dance forms. She specialized in Balboa, a style she has taught, judged, and competed in professionally across North America and France, earning the title of two-time Canadian Balboa Champion. In recent years, Sia has embraced Fusion dance as an expressive and inclusive space to explore self and partner expression. For Sia, Fusion is more than a dance—it’s a living canvas for creativity, presence, and shared artistry.

sELINA EICH

(SHE/HER)

  • Selina grew up doing gymnastics, performance Jazz, and Hip Hop dancing, building a strong movement foundation that she still pulls from today. Selina fell in love with partner dancing in college, immersing herself in the world of Lindy Hop, Blues, and Fusion. She organized a weekly Fusion event in Orange County and, over the years, cultivated a passion for teaching dance. In her dance practice, connection to self, to dance partners, and to the music are core values. 

kIRA COLLINS

  • Kira has been dancing since early childhood, exploring a wide range of solo styles, including Ballet, Hip Hop, and Belly Dance. Her journey later expanded into the world of partner dancing, where she immersed herself in Lindy Hop and Fusion. For Kira, Fusion dancing is a gateway to creativity, freedom of musical interpretation, and the conversational exchange in collaboration between partners. Kira encourages others to connect, express, and discover their unique movement potential in her teaching.
