Studio policies

1.Enrollment

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. For full classes, a waiting list will be maintained to accommodate other students if and when space becomes available. Classes are limited in size and students are grouped according to age and ability level. Fall Classes begin in September and end in June with our annual Spring Production. Registration fee and first month's tuition are due at time of enrollment. Summer programs and full day summer camps are recommended for students who wish to continue their training year round.

 

2.Registration

A non-refundable $30.00 registration fee per student is required at the time of enrollment. Families will pay $30.00 for the first and $15.00 for each additional child thereafter. Families registering 3 or more children will pay a flat $60.00 registration fee. The registration fee will reserve the student's placement in a class and is used to offset costs involved in invoicing, newsletters, miscellaneous communications, memos, flyers, and maintenance of your account. In the event that a student withdraws from class, this deposit is forfeited.

 

3.Tuition

All tuition payments are due by the 1st class of each month regardless if the student is absent or a class is cancelled due to weather. If the student is out, please stop by the studio to pay tuition, send it via mail or pay online using your online account. A payment tuition box is located in the lobby for your convenience. The studio will be in session from September through June. Monthly tuition is divided into 10 equal payments for lessons received for a full year dance session (September - June), NOT lessons per month. Payments remain the same each month regardless of attendance, school closures, holidays, etc. We have selected some holidays to keep the studio open to help even out the number of lessons with the vacations. Our office will be available to answer any questions regarding tuition accounts and payments throughout the year. Please refer to our office hours on the contacts page. Payments may be made by personal check, cash or Mastercard/Visa. Checks should be made payable to Fusion Dance Academy. To ensure proper credit, please put your child's name on the check, especially if your child has a different last name than yours.

 

4.Autopay

This is an automated system where your payment is automatically drafted from your Credit or Debit Card on the 1st of each month for the amount of your monthly fee. This will ensure your monthly payments are received on time without hassle. Please select this option in the payment info section of your online account. Contact the office for assistance, if needed.

 

5.Penalties

A $20.00 late fee will automatically be added to your account after the 15th of the month. Reminder Invoices will be sent out once a month by our office. Once enrolled, you are responsible for monthly payments. A $25.00 processing fee will be added for all returned checks. The studio reserves the right to discontinue a dancer's classes for non-payment of tuition.

 

6.Refunds

There are NO pro-rated fees for missed classes, holidays or snow days.  Students are however welcome to make-up any class missed by attending another in its place.  Payments may not be reduced in order to accommodate family vacations.  Classes are not transferable to another student.

*Class cancellations due to a teacher absence will be made up at time arranged with that teacher. Students may attend another class on the schedule as a make-up class if they missed a class due to illness.

 

 

7.Changes/Withdrawals

Anytime a student is adding or changing a class the studio requires written notice or an add or drop slip needs to be turned into the office at least 3 weeks prior to discontinuing class You will be responsible for three weeks tuition from the date the studio receives notification.

 

8.Attendance

Our studio requires all students to arrive to class regularly and on time. Please notify the office and the instructor if you will be missing classes for an extended period due to illness or vacation. Tuition refunds will not be made in the case of absences due to illness or vacation.

 

9.Holidays/Snowdays

The studio follows the Dover Public School District with regards to holidays and school closures due to snow or other weather related events. The regularly observed holidays are: Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Break / New Years, Winter Break, Spring Break, and Memorial Day. OUR POLICY FOR SNOW DAY CANCELLATION: An email will be sent to inform you of any cancellations. We will also post closing updates on our website and Facebook.

 

10.Recital

All students are invited to participate in our annual spring dance performance. Our spring performance is an extension of the benefits derived from the dedication of dance training. As part of their participation in the show, students learn showmanship, teamwork skills, memorization of patterns and how to express individual personalities. Dance costumes are required to be purchased for each dance class. Recital costume prices are $80.00 per costume for older students. Creative movement costume fees are $60.00. A recital fee will be due in March/April. More specific information about recital will be emailed in the spring.

 

11.Messages/Notices

Important studio notices go out via email so please make sure our office has a valid email address on file! We have found this the most effective form of communication. Announcements will be emailed on a weekly basis.

 

12.Observation/Video

Although our studios have viewing capabilities it will not always be available. The first class of each month will be our "parent peek week" however, parents are not allowed access into the classroom! Videotaping or taking pictures during class is not permitted unless special arrangements have been made with Miss Jaime or the office manager. Remember, it may not distract your child for you to be in the class, but it may be disruptive to the teacher and other students.

 

13.Arrival

Children under 7 should be accompanied by an adult. Small children should be taken to the bathroom prior to class to help minimize frequent "potty breaks". Our staff does not guarantee supervision of a child picked up late from class. If you are running late, please call the studio as soon as possible. This will ease the child's nerves as well as allow us to make special arrangements as needed.

 

14.Food/Drink

No food or drink is allowed in the dance studios. Food and drinks are allowed in the lobby only and any damages made are the responsibility of the child and parent. Students are responsible for the studio's tidiness.

 

15.Dress

Please read the dress code section thoroughly and know the proper requirements for your child's dance studies. A cover-up should be worn entering and leaving the studio. Do not wear dance shoes outside of the studio.

 

16.Conduct

Proper respect for the director, staff, office manager, curriculum and fellow students is expected of all students, parents and siblings. Every student should behave in a disciplined, responsible manner both on and off site. The studio reserves the right to suspend or dismiss any student whose attitude, attendance or conduct is found to be unsatisfactory. Parents wishing to speak to the director or instructor must first make an appointment with Miss Jaime or the office manager.

 

Please remember

Gum is absolutely NOT permitted for any age group, any class, EVER.

Do NOT send your child to the studio with toys, gaming devices, or other valuables in their dance bags. We will not be held responsible for lost or stolen items. In addition, these items are a distraction to students and staff.

 

While observing class or waiting in the waiting area, please conduct yourself and your children in a respectful manner. This means controlling noise level as to not distract the dancers.

 

When classes are missed or cancelled, you may make up the class in another class of the same level or another comparable class.

In case of inclement weather, please check our website or Facebook page to find out if classes are running. We will usually follow the Dover school closings but we ask that you still check.

 

First month's tuition and registration fee are due upon registration.

Fusion Dance Academy makes every effort to ensure a safe dance experience for all.

 

If a student has any physical issues, it is up to the student (or parent, if the student is a minor) to inform the staff.

 

Students must understand that dance is a physical art form, and as with any physical activity, there is always the possibility of injury. Fusion Dance Academy will not assume liability for injuries incurred.
