Tyler Wing - Instructor
Jazz, Hip Hop, Video, Musical Theatre, Turns n Leaps, Contemporary and Competition Teams
Tyler Wing has credits that sweep the spectrum of dance. Specializing
in contemporary, jazz, and video hip hop dance forms, he is known
throughout the dance industry as a respected master instructor and
choreographer.
His professional career began at the age of 17, as choreographer Joey
Dowdy, in the middle of a dance convention, hired him to dance as a
member of the Los Angeles based dance company, Sweat Express. Tyler's
film and television credits include music videos with International pop
star Heather Schmid, blues singer Dorian Rush, celebrity music re-mixer
DJ Sasha, a TV show pilot for the WB Network called The INdustry, and
with legendary music producer, and founder of TV's VH1, Ed Bennett.
Tyler had the special honor of being featured in Dance Teacher
Magazine’s 2008 article, “You Be The Judge,” where he contributed as
one of the leading judges in the competition circuit.
Simultaneous to his professional pursuits, Tyler’s teaching career
began at the age 18 and has thrived to this day. Having a hand in
molding hundreds of dancers, many of his students have gone onto their
own dance careers with professional credits on Broadway, music videos,
cruise lines, and industrials. As a competitive instructor, Tyler’s
choreography and his students have been awarded with a bevy of high
gold and platinum awards, top 5 placements, and choreography awards for
innovation and distinctiveness. With a professional career that spans
over 10 years, Tyler remains in demand as a master teacher and
adjudicator with Dancers Inc and Ray Hollingsworth’s Dance Troupe Inc.
competitions, and continually holds master classes for numerous dance
studios, colleges, and organizations across the country.
